SANTA CLARA — De’Zhaun Stribling has not been on the field for a handful of practices, but Upton Stout already has seen lot of upside in the 49ers draft pick. The rookie wide receiver has been sidelined with hamstring tightness for nearly a week, but Stout experienced enough to detail the Ole Miss product’s strengths.
“Whichever category you want to talk about,” Stout said Wednesday. “Separating at the top of the route, being able to get open from DBs or just going up and making a play on the ball. I feel like he’s going to be a good well-rounded receiver when it comes to it.”
The second-year defensive back went up against the 6-foot-2 wideout on several occasions during the first week of camp, both battling to make plays.
“He’s going to be a dog,” Stout said. “I like the way he uses his hands and his speed. He’s going to be a good addition for us.”
