The Rams and Seahawks wins set up a huge Thursday night contest between the NFC West leaders.
Despite the missed opportunity to gain ground, the 49ers improved to 10-4 and remain firmly in the playoff hunt with three games left on the schedule. San Francisco will travel to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16 before closing the regular season with home games against the Chicago Bears and the Seahawks.
The 49ers previously beat the Seahawks in Week 1.
NFC West standings (after Week 15):
- Los Angeles Rams (11-3)
- Seattle Seahawks (11-3)
- San Francisco 49ers (10-4)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-11)
If the season ended today, the 49ers would head to Philadelphia for a Wild Card Round matchup against the Eagles. A potential win, combined with a Green Bay Packers loss to the Chicago Bears, would send San Francisco to Southern California for a Divisional Round rematch with the Rams. The 49ers and Rams split their regular-season series this season.
