San Francisco 49ers rookie defensive end Romello Height suffered an injury during Monday's practice, the second session of training camp. The third-round pick was carted off the field following a concerning moment.

Fortunately, the 49ers appear to have avoided a serious injury.
The team quickly provided a positive update, announcing that Height was dealing with cramps. The news is a relief for San Francisco, which is counting on the rookie pass rusher to contribute in 2026 while attempting to improve a defensive front that recorded an NFL-low 20 sacks last season.

The 49ers selected Height in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech, and he has already impressed veteran defensive end Nick Bosa.
Bosa praised Height's ability to quickly absorb defensive coordinator Raheem Morris' scheme and adjust to the NFL level.
"Rookie-wise, I've never seen a guy come in and get the scheme as quickly and seamlessly as he has," Bosa said during a radio interview. "Even when vets come in who haven't played in this scheme, he's gotten it quicker than I did. Just the way he picked it up, it seems like second nature to him.
"And he's super explosive. He's got a bag of tricks in the pass rush that you could tell he's been coached well. And he's a little older, so that might be part of it, for a rookie. But I think he's going to contribute pretty quick."
