Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is expected to do a little — or a lot — of everything this season with the 49ers.And the details of his one-year contract reflect exactly what the 49ers have in mind.
Samuel signed a one-year contract late last week with the 49ers that includes incentives for playing time, total yards from scrimmage, touchdowns, kick returns and the team advancing to the NFL playoffs, a source told NBC Sports Bay Area on Tuesday.
“You are going to see him in the return game, at receiver, and at running back,” 49ers general manager John Lynch told reporters in Santa Clara on Saturday, prior to Samuel’s first practice with the team.
“We are going to use him all over the field, and we are really excited to have Deebo back. We have a lot of history with him, we know the type of player he is, and he looks to be in really good shape.”
Samuel, 30, a seven-year NFL veteran, agreed to a deal with a guaranteed base salary of $3.27 million and a signing bonus of $490,000.
