San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is participating in Friday's practice after missing the first two sessions of the week due to a hip injury. The injury is not considered serious.
We won't know how much Evans participated in Friday's session until the 49ers release their official practice participation report and game status report, which should come shortly after practice. Reporters must leave the field before team drills begin.
The 49ers are preparing to host the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.
Evans suffered the injury during the 49ers' Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that if San Francisco had not built such a comfortable lead late in the contest, Evans likely could have returned.
ESPN's Nick Wagoner also noted that defensive end Nick Bosa was not seen at practice, which isn't surprising. Bosa suffered a calf injury this week and is expected to miss multiple weeks, further thinning an already injury-depleted 49ers defensive front.
Also absent from practice were wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr., both of whom are expected to miss time with high-ankle sprains. Defensive end Romello Height was also absent after undergoing hand surgery this week.
