The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their second full practice of the week as they aim to start the season 3-0 with a win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Wide receiver Mike Evans remains sidelined. He was among multiple players who missed Wednesday's practice due to injuries. The wide receiver is dealing with a hip issue that emerged during Sunday's 35-13 Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins.
The good news is that Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports Evans was seen running on a side field, and it does not sound like there is significant concern about the hip injury keeping him out against the Cardinals.
Mike Evans was running on a side field but not practicing today. I think he falls into the "doesn't need to practice to play" category.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan previously said the 49ers would manage Evans' workload this week. He downplayed the setback, saying that if Sunday's game against the Dolphins had played out differently, Evans could have returned to the field.
Defensive end Romello Height underwent hand surgery this week, but Shanahan believes there's still an outside chance he could play this weekend. As expected, Height has missed practice for the second straight day.
Also as expected, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. did not practice. Both players are expected to miss time with high-ankle sprains.
While running back Christian McCaffrey, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and tackle Trent Williams returned to practice after resting Wednesday, reporters did not see defensive end Nick Bosa.
The 49ers will release their official practice participation report after on-field work is complete.
