San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following a standout performance against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.

Purdy completed 20 of 22 pass attempts (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with a 149.1 passer rating. He also rushed for a touchdown in the 49ers' 35-13 win over the Dolphins.
"Yeah, he was real sharp," head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game. "He was on point, got the ball to all the right spots. I think his one incompletion was a drop, and then the other one on a third down, we had a bust on the play, but he was great today."
Purdy became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his passes, throw for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns, and rush for a touchdown in the same game.
The 49ers quarterback now has eight career games with a passer rating of at least 140.0, the most by any quarterback in his first five NFL seasons. Purdy surpassed Ben Roethlisberger and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Kurt Warner, each with seven such games.
This marks Purdy's third career Offensive Player of the Week award. He joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve Young (12-time winner) and Joe Montana (eight-time winner) as the only San Francisco quarterbacks to earn the honor at least three times. Purdy previously won the award in Week 11 of the 2023 season and Week 16 of the 2025 season.
Purdy is also the only former Iowa State player to earn multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards.
