The incident occurred during a turbulent period in Aiyuk's relationship with the 49ers, which eventually led to the receiver cutting off communication with the organization and the team placing him on the reserve/left squad list, officially ending his attempt to return from ACL and MCL injuries.
Aiyuk later apologized for the video and publicly vowed to change his behavior.

While many are unlikely to be surprised that Aiyuk's actions have resulted in legal repercussions, former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant questioned the timing and motivation behind the latest development.
"I don't agree with how BA has been handling his business as a professional athlete," Bryant wrote on social media, "but this right here is strategically put together to smear his name..Some will get it..and some won't…"
H/t to Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports Bay Area for the find.
Bryant did not elaborate on who he believes may be attempting to damage Aiyuk's already tarnished reputation further. However, the suggestion that the 49ers would benefit from such a development seems unlikely.
San Francisco has been seeking a trade partner for the veteran receiver, and news of an arrest warrant only complicates those efforts by raising additional concerns among interested teams.
With no trade appearing imminent, the 49ers will likely be forced to release Aiyuk before September 1, when a significant option bonus becomes due.
