The move reunites Elliott with head coach Robert Saleh, who served as the 49ers' defensive coordinator in 2025.
Elliott entered the NFL as a third-round pick (88th overall) out of Missouri in the 2020 NFL Draft, signing with the Cleveland Browns. He spent his first four NFL seasons in Cleveland, appearing in 66 games and developing from a rotational player into a full-time starter.
Elliott signed a two-year contract with the 49ers on March 14, 2024.
During the 2025 season, Elliott recorded 31 tackles (one for a loss), two quarterback hits, and one pass defensed while starting 16 games. Over six NFL seasons, he has appeared in 97 games, totaling 148 tackles (11 for a loss), five sacks, and five passes defensed.
