Although the Seattle Seahawks were officially designated as the away team, they were assigned the home locker room and even wore their home jerseys. The space was temporarily transformed with Seahawks logos and colors as part of the Super Bowl setup.
Now, the 49ers locker room has been restored to its original aesthetic. Safety Marques Sigle shared a photo on social media showing the space returned to normal.
The temporary makeover didn't sit well with many fans. Even star linebacker Fred Warner, who served as a guest analyst during NBC's Super Bowl LX pregame broadcast, reacted candidly to the altered locker room before kickoff.
"It's taking everything in me not to start ripping stuff down in here," Warner said. "I mean, come on, it's like torture for me."
The frustration was understandable. The Seahawks eliminated the 49ers in the playoffs on their way to the Super Bowl. And just two weeks before that postseason loss, Seattle had defeated San Francisco in the regular-season finale, costing the 49ers home-field advantage in the playoffs.
At the very least, 49ers players no longer have to walk into a locker room decorated in a division rival's colors.
