Adams is reportedly signing a two-year, $46 million deal, with $26 million guaranteed. The receiver strongly desired to return to the West Coast, sparking speculation that the 49ers could have been a potential landing spot.
Adams has been one of the NFL's most consistent receivers, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in six of the past seven seasons. The only exception came in 2019 when he missed four games due to a toe injury, finishing just short with 997 yards.
Last season, Adams recorded 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns while playing for the Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders. Now 32 years old, he aims to continue producing for the Rams.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are trading wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders, and Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from ACL and MCL injuries. If Aiyuk isn't ready for Week 1, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall could be the team's top two wideouts to open the season.
