Helfet was originally signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He spent time between Seattle's practice squad and active roster through part of the 2016 season.
In October of 2016, Helfet was signed to the Raiders practice squad. This past July, he was placed on their non-football injury list and then released on September 2 during roster cutdowns.
Helfet has 25 receptions for 315 yards and two touchdowns over his career. Both of his touchdowns came during the 2014 season. Helfet has appeared in 24 games over his career while starting four.
