49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is recovering from various injuries sustained in a July 14 car accident. He'll be participating in training camp on a limited basis, due to the aftermath of a severe concussion.

Via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, Shanahan was on the practice field for roughly 30 minutes on Sunday.

He watched most of the 11-on-11 portion of practice, with G.M. John Lynch. They were positioned deep behind the secondary.

It's unknown when Shanahan will be cleared to resume full duties. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster is serving as head coach in Shanahan's absence.

The 49ers open the season against the Rams on September 10 in Melbourne, Australia.
