Kyle Shanahan addresses nature of Jauan Jennings’ 49ers training camp absence

SANTA CLARA — Wide receiver Jauan Jennings remains sidelined at 49ers training camp with a calf injury.But because of his reported desire for a new contract before the start of the season, there are some questions about whether it’s his physical condition or something else that is keeping him off the practice field.Jennings left the practice field on July 27 with an apparent calf injury. Still, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan was asked Monday whether there might be a business reason for Jennings’ absence from practices. “You can ask him that,” Shanahan said, “but he tells me it’s his calf, and the calf shows.
