It seems likely that the San Francisco 49ers will be without wide receiver Mike Evans and defensive end Nick Bosa in Sunday's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Neither player was spotted as the team began its third and final practice of the week in Santa Clara before traveling to Atlanta.
Evans is dealing with Achilles tendinitis, which forced him to exit the 49ers' Week 6 game against the Washington Commanders in the second quarter.
Bosa has missed the past four games with a calf injury and previously expressed optimism that he might return against the Falcons. Earlier in the week, head coach Kyle Shanahan believed Bosa could practice Thursday or Friday.
With the 49ers' bye week following Sunday's game against the Falcons, both players would have more time to recover if they can't play this weekend.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, also hasn't practiced this week. However, he wasn't expected to return against the Falcons.
The 49ers will release their official practice participation report and game statuses following Friday's practice. Those updates will clarify whether Evans and Bosa have been ruled out for Sunday's game.
WRs Mike Evans (Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring), and DE Nick Bosa (calf) are not on the field as 49ers practice begins on Friday. With the team scheduled to take off for Atlanta after practice, looks like a strong chance that none of them will make that trip.
