San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has missed the last four games with a calf injury. He has not participated in either of the team's first two practices this week as the 49ers prepare for Sunday's road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Although the 49ers have not completely ruled out Bosa for Sunday's game, their final contest before the bye week, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports a "high level of optimism" that the defensive end will return for San Francisco's Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 8 at Levi's Stadium.
There's a high level of optimism at this point that #49ers star edge rusher Nick Bosa, who has been out since Sept. 20 due to a calf injury, will be able to return to game action Nov. 8 against the #Raiders coming out of San Francisco's week, sources tell @CBSSports pic.twitter.com/XACkhneAXA

It's unclear whether Zenitz's report suggests that Bosa has been completely ruled out for Week 7. However, his absence from practice this week makes that a distinct possibility.
Bosa is in his eighth NFL season. Before suffering the calf injury, he recorded seven tackles, two tackles for loss, and one quarterback hit in two appearances.
The 49ers have one more practice scheduled for Friday before traveling to Atlanta for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons.
