The San Francisco 49ers returned to the Bay Area this afternoon after a nearly 14-hour flight from Melbourne, Australia, where they spent the past week preparing for their season opener.
The 49ers are likely in good spirits after returning from their international trip with a 27-7 win over the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, opening the 2026 campaign with a 1-0 record.
After returning home, tight end George Kittle took to social media to share a heartfelt message.
"8 months to the day since an Achilles tear, I was back on a field with my brothers!!! Football rocks," Kittle wrote on Instagram. "Thanks to Melbourne and [its] awesome people for embracing the team all week. We had [a] blast getting the Dub at the G!!! Bang bang."
Kittle wasn't the only 49ers player returning from a significant injury.
Before leaving Australia, linebacker Fred Warner shared a message of his own, reminding everyone that he remains one of the game's best players.
Warner returned from a dislocated and fractured right ankle that limited him to just six games last season. He recorded 11 tackles, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble against the Rams before sharing a simple two-word message on Instagram.
"Google Me," Warner captioned alongside a series of in-game photos and a clip of Rams head coach Sean McVay saying his team was well-rested for the game.
Warner also included a video of Daejon Love, who was recently arrested after allegedly pretending to be a 49ers player as part of a scheme to scam 26 women out of $1.3 million. This time, he was wearing Rams gear.
The veteran linebacker capped the Instagram carousel with a photo of the Rams' sleep celebration, completing the troll.
