On Monday, the San Francisco 49ers kicked off the first of three practices before traveling to Melbourne, Australia, for their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Several players returned to practice, providing encouraging news for a 49ers team that has dealt with numerous injuries throughout training camp.
According to Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group, safety Malik Mustapha (hamstring strain) and offensive linemen Dominick Puni (concussion) and Vederian Lowe (high-ankle sprain) were suited up for Monday's non-padded practice.
Tight end George Kittle (Achilles) was also participating in practice, as he did last week, after the 49ers activated him from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Inman did not see defensive end Nick Bosa (soreness/tendinitis), cornerback Renardo Green (hamstring), or defensive end Romello Height (ankle) on the field.
Additionally, wide receiver Mike Evans (groin) was among the players working on the side.

It's worth noting that, unlike during training camp, the media will only be allowed to observe practices until team drills begin. As a result, reporters will not be able to determine exactly how much work each participant receives. The 49ers are also not required to issue injury reports after each practice until next week.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that neither Kittle nor Bosa is likely to participate in all three practices leading up to the team's departure for Australia.
"With three days before we go, we're balancing it out with both of them," Shanahan said. "We don't want them to go three days in a row, so we're going to do a little on some of these days and more on one. Both of them are on a little different schedule with the three."
The 49ers are scheduled to practice again Tuesday and Wednesday before departing for Australia ahead of their September 10 season opener against the Rams.
