San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in the Youngstown, Ohio, area over the weekend and pleaded no contest Monday morning to two misdemeanor charges: disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
York was sentenced to two days in the Columbiana County Jail and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.
WKBN27 has updated its report with several new details about the incident. According to the report, York responded to an undercover law enforcement ad posted on a prostitution website.
His arrest occurred Sunday at 9:35 a.m. at Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community off State Route 170, a detail that was previously known. However, WKBN27 provided additional information from an affidavit:
"An affidavit states York responded to an ad on a known prostitution website that, unbeknownst to him, was posted by an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force," WKBN27 wrote. "The document states that York arranged to have sexual activity with a woman in exchange for $140.
"He arrived [at] a set location with the phone he used to arrange the meeting and was taken into custody."
Court records show that York has filed an expungement request seeking to have the incident removed from his record.
An NFL spokesman stated, "We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy."
The 49ers issued the following statement: "As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time."
Jed York and his wife filed for divorce in May
The arrest has brought another aspect of York's personal life into the spotlight.
The San Francisco Chronicle, citing Santa Clara Superior Court documents, reports that York filed for divorce from his wife of more than 15 years, Danielle York, in May, citing irreconcilable differences.
While the couple awaits a court date for their dissolution of marriage case, they have agreed to legal and physical joint custody of their two children. The division of property and assets has yet to be determined.
