According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston, the San Francisco 49ers worked out three edge rushers on Sunday as the team continues to make moves ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. The 49ers brought in Viliami Fehoko, Ron Stone, and Diwun Black for workouts.

Fehoko, who played college football at San Jose State, where he earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022, was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He has spent time with the Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and Indianapolis Colts. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Stone entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024. He was released by the Raiders that same year. Stone has not appeared in an NFL game yet. But the former Washington State Cougar comes from strong NFL bloodlines. He is the son of former 49ers All-Pro guard Ron Stone.
Black, meanwhile, is a highly touted former top junior college recruit out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College who originally committed to Florida before finishing his college career playing at Temple. He has yet to sign with his first NFL team.
The workouts come on the heels of another roster move. San Francisco waived/injured DL Xavier Thomas to make room for tight end Khalil Dinkins.
The 49ers will continue trimming their roster in the coming days, with the team needing to get down to 53 players before the regular season.
