San Francisco briefly had hope of climbing the NFC West standings, as both the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks trailed in their respective games. However, each division rival rallied to win in Week 15, improving to 11-3 and staying ahead of the 49ers.
The Rams and Seahawks wins set up a huge Thursday night contest between the NFC West leaders.
Despite the missed opportunity to gain ground, the 49ers improved to 10-4 and remain firmly in the playoff hunt with three games left on the schedule. San Francisco will travel to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16 before closing the regular season with home games against the Chicago Bears and the Seahawks.
The 49ers previously beat the Seahawks in Week 1.
