One name frequently connected to the 49ers is Nick's older brother, Joey Bosa, a five-time Pro Bowler who has totaled 77 sacks over 10 NFL seasons. Based on Nick's latest comments, though, a reunion in San Francisco doesn't appear to be imminent.
When asked during an appearance on Bay Area radio station KNBR whether Joey could join the 49ers for the upcoming season, Nick downplayed the possibility.
"Joey might need to start training if that's going to be the case," Nick said on Bay Area radio station KNBR, suggesting that football isn't currently his brother's top priority.
Nick added that Joey is "probably" on the golf course in Florida right now.
When the KNBR hosts joked, asking if they should keep their phones on in case Joey-to-49ers news broke, Nick quickly shut down the speculation.
"No, probably not," he replied.
Nick Bosa was not among the four players who opened training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and was a limited practice participant on Sunday. His availability early in camp is an encouraging sign for the 49ers that he will be ready ahead of the team's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
