Williams agreed to a two-year, $50 million extension that includes $48.5 million in guarantees, of which $37 million is fully guaranteed.
Most notably, Williams' 2026 cap hit drops dramatically—from $46.34 million to a far more manageable $20.01 million, providing immediate relief.
The contract also includes four void years to spread bonus money throughout the total length of the deal.

Key contract notes
In 2027, Williams' base salary and an $11 million option bonus are fully guaranteed. The 49ers have until September 1, 2027, to exercise that option or convert it into a roster bonus.
If Williams remains on the roster as of that date and participates fully in offseason activities, he will earn an $11.5 million roster bonus in 2028, which becomes fully guaranteed once triggered.
Looking further ahead, San Francisco must act before the 10th day of the 2028 league year to either extend or move on from Williams. Otherwise, a massive $50.175 million roster bonus for 2029 would become fully guaranteed.
According to OverTheCap, the 49ers currently sit at approximately $71.28 million in available salary cap space.
