Moe Moton of Bleacher Report recently identified eight rookies with the potential to earn Pro Bowl or All-Pro honors in 2026, and Stribling made the list.
Moton acknowledged that Stribling may not see a heavy workload early in the season. The 49ers offense features established playmakers like veteran tight end George Kittle and remains hopeful that third-year receiver Ricky Pearsall can become an impact player. The team also added veterans Mike Evans and Christian Kirk this offseason.
Additionally, there's versatile running back Christian McCaffrey, who remains a major threat both as a runner and receiver.
"All that being true, Stribling brings much-needed speed to the San Francisco 49ers' pass-catching group," Moton wrote. "Evans, Kittle, and running back Christian McCaffrey are older veterans who are incredibly reliable but not explosive in the aerial attack."
Moton also pointed to Pearsall's recent availability issues—missing 14 games over the past two seasons, including an injury-plagued 2025 campaign—as a potential factor that could open the door for Stribling.
That scenario could lead to increased opportunities as the season progresses and the rookie grows more comfortable within head coach Kyle Shanahan's system.
"Averaging more than 14 yards per reception in each of his last three collegiate years at Oklahoma State and Ole Miss, Stribling can provide an explosive element to the 49ers offense that keeps him on the field," Moton added.
"Both past their primes, Evans and Kirk could play in limited roles, while Stribling sees more opportunities as the season goes on."
If Stribling can pick up the 49ers offense quickly, he could carve out a meaningful role sooner than expected. And if opportunities increase, the rookie has a legitimate chance to prove he was worth the high-than-expected selection.
