Davis was one of several restricted free agents the 49ers declined to tender this offseason, allowing him to sign with any team. The only other former San Francisco restricted free agent to land elsewhere so far is defensive end Robert Beal Jr., who signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins.
San Francisco issued a qualifying tender to just one restricted free agent—defensive end Sam Okuayinonu. Meanwhile, tight end Jake Tonges, another restricted free agent, was re-signed to a two-year, $8 million contract.
Davis entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (220th overall) out of UCF in the 2022 NFL Draft, selected by the 49ers. He spent his rookie season on the reserve/non-football injury list and later missed the start of the 2023 campaign after undergoing knee surgery.
The defensive tackle spent his entire NFL career with San Francisco before this move. He made 17 starts in 2025, recording 28 tackles (four for a loss), 0.5 sacks, and three passes defensed.
Over his three active NFL seasons, Davis appeared in 33 games for the 49ers, totaling 41 tackles (five for a loss), 1.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and one interception.
