Could the San Francisco 49ers still land a deal for Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby?

The Raiders have previously made it clear that their preference was to keep Crosby. However, the relationship between the team and the veteran pass rusher may now be deteriorating to the point that a trade becomes more realistic.


According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Raiders are increasingly open to trading Crosby, and the situation is likely to intensify.


With the new league year and free agency set to begin next week, the Raiders-Crosby situation could develop quickly.

Earlier this week, Matt Barrows and Vic Tafur of The Athletic reported that, based on conversations at the NFL Scouting Combine, the 49ers are among several teams "in play" for Crosby if the Raiders ultimately decide to move him.

Of course, any deal would likely depend on the price required to acquire the star defender.

The Raiders were previously believed to be seeking a Micah Parsons-like trade package in return for Crosby. Last year, the Green Bay Packers acquired Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys for two first-round draft picks and a player.


However, recent reports suggest this type of return for Crosby is unlikely.

"The San Francisco 49ers are seemingly one of a dozen teams in play for Crosby, whom the Las Vegas Raiders would move for a couple of draft picks (it doesn't seem like they can get two first-rounders) and a player," Barrows and Tafur wrote.

Crosby appeared in 15 games in 2025, recording 73 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, 10 sacks, six passes defensed, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

Over his seven NFL seasons, Crosby has recorded double-digit sacks four times, including three of the past four seasons.
