General manager John Lynch first revealed the signing last week during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The team officially announced the move earlier this week.
According to OverTheCap.com, Weeks signed a one-year contract worth $1.49 million, which includes $1.21 million fully guaranteed and a $137,500 signing bonus.
The contract structure for the 2026 season is as follows:
- Base salary: $1,300,000
- Prorated signing bonus: $137,500
- Workout bonus: $50,000
- Guaranteed salary: $1,075,000
- Salary cap number: $1,262,500
OverTheCap currently lists the 49ers with $37,530,476 in available salary cap space, though that figure is expected to change as the new league year begins and additional roster moves are finalized.
Weeks, 40, completed his first season with San Francisco in 2025, appearing in all 17 regular-season games and earning his second career Pro Bowl selection.
Over 16 NFL seasons, Weeks has played 261 career games, including a franchise record 244 with the Houston Texans.
