The San Francisco 49ers held their final practice of the week on Friday ahead of Sunday's NFC Wild Card playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the early on-field work brought a mix of encouraging and concerning developments.

Left tackle Trent Williams was on the field for the second consecutive day, a positive sign for his availability this weekend. Williams suffered a hamstring injury on the opening offensive snap of the 49ers' Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears, forcing him to miss most of that contest and all of Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks.


Matt Lively of CBS Sports Bay Area noted that Williams was participating but worked individually, away from the other offensive linemen. Reporters can only view the early portion of practice and cannot observe team drills.

Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall remains sidelined. After working on the side Thursday, Pearsall was again a non-participant in Friday's practice, making his status for the 49ers' postseason opener increasingly unlikely. Pearsall aggravated a previous PCL injury in Week 17 and did not play against Seattle.

Linebacker Dee Winters also did not practice as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. Although, he was seen working on a side field. Also note seen practicing were defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) and linebacker Luke Gifford (quad), according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.

Meanwhile, defensive end Keion White, who has been managing groin and hamstring injuries, returned to practice.

The 49ers will release their official practice participation report and game status designations following Friday's session.
