The San Francisco 49ers have a lot at stake in Saturday night's regular-season finale against the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium. The winner will claim the NFC West title and secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, which includes home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

That top seed would be especially meaningful for San Francisco, as Super Bowl LX is set to be played at Levi's Stadium.


Quarterback Brock Purdy has been playing arguably the best football of his career. Over his last three games, Purdy has completed 74.2% of his passes for 893 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions, posting a 131.5 passer rating. The 49ers' offense has been explosive, with Purdy accounting for five of the team's touchdowns in each of the last two games.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters ahead of Tuesday's practice, detailing what he expects from his quarterback in Week 18.

"You always hope that the momentum helps you, but I just want him to keep being him," Shanahan said. "Not hesitating on stuff. When he sees it, let it rip. I love how he's been playing. I love how he's played all year. I love how Brock's played since we got him."

Shanahan has long admired Purdy's poise—a trait that stood out when the quarterback threw a pick-six on the first offensive play against the Chicago Bears, yet did not let it rattle him.

"Throwing a pick-six on the first play, and you watch some guys, how that makes a person act and how they change after that, and he didn't change at all—personality-wise, demeanor-wise, what you see on the silent tape," Shanahan explained.


"When he's confident, and he sees it, he lets it rip. If he doesn't, he gets rid of it, usually to a check-down, or he finds a way to make a play. So, keep being him and keep being aggressive."

With the NFC West and a No. 1 seed on the line, all eyes will be on Purdy to continue his hot streak, lead the 49ers past the Seahawks, and carry that momentum into the postseason.
