Injury Notes
Quarterback Brock Purdy continues to be a limited practice participant as he works his way back from the toe injury suffered in Week 1. However, he has been ruled out for Sunday, leaving Mac Jones set to make his sixth start of the season.
Shanahan noted that Purdy will travel with the 49ers this weekend, a positive sign of progress in his recovery.
Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has not played or practiced since Week 4. He has been dealing with a knee injury and is also ruled out for the Texans game.
After not practicing on Wednesday or Thursday due to a quadriceps injury, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir returned on Friday. Linebacker Luke Gifford, who also did not practice on Thursday, was back on the field. Both are questionable for Sunday.
Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Texans, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
