- CB Upton Stout has an ankle sprain, though it is not a high-ankle sprain. He is considered day-to-day.
- Shanahan confirmed that DT Kalia Davis is undergoing surgery today for a broken hand. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the 49ers expect him to miss time. He will likely play with a cast upon returning.
- DE Yetur Gross-Matos will miss time with a hamstring strain.
- DT Alfred Collins suffered a knee sprain and will be re-evaluated early next week.
George Kittle and Malik Mustapha updates
The 49ers also hope to open the practice window for safety Malik Mustapha on Monday. Mustapha is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in last season's finale. He started the 2025 season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Regarding tight end George Kittle, who is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, Rapoport had previously reported that he was trending toward a possible return for the Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shanahan, however, believes a return the following week is more likely.
"He's doing good, but I think it'd be a long shot for this week," Shanahan said. "Just talking to the doctors a second ago, probably looking more like the following week."
That new timeline would potentially make Kittle available for Week 7's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
