San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle never shies away from a good story—or a good laugh. During a recent appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast, the All-Pro shared a hilarious and unexpected tale from his rookie year that involved a visit to San Quentin State Prison.

The conversation began when Kittle was asked a hypothetical: What would you be willing to do to win a Super Bowl? Among the things he'd be willing to sacrifice for a championship ring? Going on injured reserve in Week 16, biting someone's ear off, and even cutting off his pinky finger.


He'd even be willing to go to prison for a year if it meant a sixth Super Bowl victory for the franchise—with one exception. He wouldn't go to San Quentin, at least not again.

"My rookie year they made all the rookies go to San Quentin," Kittle shared, per Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports Bay Area. "We go into the death row area during a tour, and as soon as we got through security, they're like, 'Just letting you guys know, if there's a riot, there's nothing we can do for you.'"

As unsettling as that was, what came next was the real punchline.

"So we go into death row, and this guy's like, 'Oh, the football players are here. Which one of you is the tight end because I'm going to get up in that ass?'" Kittle continued.

Naturally, Kittle made a quick decision to avoid any attention.


"And I was like, 'I play linebacker.' Absolutely not. I'm OK," Kittle said.

Everyone has to draw the line somewhere, and Kittle made that line clear this week.
