Despite the perceived snub, Lenoir isn't dwelling on the Pro Bowl. In fact, he's already planning to miss next year's event—and his reason will thrill 49ers fans.
"I missed the Pro Bowl this year. I think I'm gonna miss it next year because we're gonna be in the Super Bowl," Lenoir confidently told reporters on Monday.
The 49ers are coming off a challenging 2024 season, finishing 6-11 and landing at the bottom of the NFC West standings. A season marred by injuries and costly mistakes fell far short of the team's one-time Super Bowl aspirations.
Despite the setback, Lenoir remains optimistic about the 49ers' future. The team's home venue, Levi's Stadium, is set to host Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026—a motivating factor for the 49ers cornerback.
"The Super Bowl is at here, so we need to be in the dance, so I ain't really worried about the Pro Bowl," Lenoir added.
According to Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks targeting Lenoir earned a 72.6 passer rating, and the emerging star defender didn't allow a single touchdown all season. The 49ers prioritized investing in the young and talented player, signing him to a lucrative five-year extension.
