Bosa briefly crashed a post-game interview with George Kittle, Brock Purdy, and Isaac Guerendo to show off a "Make America Great Again" hat he wore, openly supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
When asked about the political statement in a post-game press conference, Bosa commented, "I'm not going to talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time."
Maske reported that Bosa is unlikely to face suspension but could be fined for potentially violating NFL rules.
Maske notes that NFL rules state players are "prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office."
These regulations apply to game days whenever a player is visible to the stadium and television audience, including pre-game warm-ups and post-game interviews.
Florio weighed in on the situation, writing, "Really, there's nothing to review. It's a violation or it isn't. The plain language of the rule says it is. The business interests of the NFL says to delay."
Bosa will not address the media again until after the election, when Trump faces Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
