The Giants, who recently lost tackle Andrew Thomas for the season due to a foot injury, are adding Hubbard to bolster their offensive line depth.
Hubbard originally signed with the 49ers on May 14 but was released on August 27 before being re-signed to the practice squad on September 11. The veteran lineman has played in 94 games, with 58 starts, throughout his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Tennessee Titans.
This move creates an opening on the 49ers' practice squad, which now has two remaining offensive linemen—Isaac Alarcon and Drake Nugent.
