Purdy achieved a 129.3 passer rating in Week 6 at Lumen Field, marking his 12th career game surpassing the 120.0 mark, tying Wilson's record. The next players with the most such games are Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whom Purdy's 49ers face next, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger—all with 10.
On Thursday night, Purdy completed 18 of 28 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns, bringing his season total to nine touchdowns and his career total to 53. This marked the eighth time in his career—and the second time this season—that Purdy has thrown three or more touchdowns in a game.
Through six games this season, the third-year quarterback has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 1,629 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions, putting him on pace to break his own franchise record of 4,280 passing yards, set last season.
Thursday's win over Seattle improved the 49ers' record to 3-3, propelling them to the top of the NFC West, thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Seahawks.
Jordan Mason ties franchise record
Running back Jordan Mason also made it into the record books, tying a long-standing franchise record by rushing for 73 yards against the Seahawks, bringing his season total to 609 yards. This matches the rushing yardage posted by Charlie Garner over the first six games of the 2000 season, a record that has stood for nearly a quarter-century.
Mason likely would have surpassed the record if not for an AC sprain sustained in the second quarter, which sidelined him for most of the second half of Thursday's game.
An undrafted free agent in 2022, Mason is in his third NFL season and is quickly making a name for himself with a remarkable start to the year.
