Aside from wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is dealing with a calf strain, everyone was on the practice field Wednesday. This, of course, excludes players on injury lists, such as running back Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles).
Even Talanoa Hufanga was a full participant, and head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that the All-Pro safety will make his season debut on Sunday after a lengthy recovery from a torn ACL.
"But obviously, always miss Huf out there, the big-play capability, how well he communicates, flying sideline to sideline," Shanahan said. "We're gonna be pumped. He should get back this week, if everything goes right, and we've missed him."
Linebacker Fred Warner believes that getting Hufanga back in the lineup will provide a big boost for the defense.
"We miss him a lot," Warner said ahead of practice. "I think, even though he's a young player, his leadership ability in that room is big time. The voice that he has in the back end, calling out the checks and alerting guys, alerting even myself, is huge for me. It takes a lot off my plate, so happy to have him back out there."
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
