The outlook for the 2020 San Francisco 49ers changed dramatically when second-year defensive end Nick Bosa went down with a torn ACL during Week 2 against the New York Jets. That's how good Bosa is. He is a game-changer on the edge of the once-formidable Niners defensive line that has also lost Solomon Thomas for the year to a torn ACL, and veteran Dee Ford is out indefinitely with a back injury.

Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers told reporters on Wednesday that his younger brother, Nick, is staying with him and his parents during his rehab.


"It's nice having them around," Joey Bosa said. "They're keeping the place [tidy] for me and food constantly running. I can't complain."


The two play for different teams but train together during the offseason. They stayed and worked out together in Florida this offseason as players were prohibited from utilizing team facilities due to COVID-19.

"Obviously, it's been a little tough with what's going on in the world, but we have a pretty good setup down here (in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) that we're still able to get our work in," Nick Bosa said in May.

The brothers fantasize about one day playing alongside one another.

"Yeah, we spent every waking hour together the past six months, so obviously we have conversations like that," Nick Bosa told NBC Sports Bay Area in August.


Joey, however, signed a five-year extension in August, and its unlikely the 49ers let Nick go anytime soon.

Nick Bosa, the former No. 2 overall draft pick, was coming off a phenomenal rookie season that included 47 tackles, nine sacks, 25 quarterback hits, an interception, two passes defensed, and NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. He had six tackles, and a quarterback hit this season before his injury.
