The 49ers worked out running backs Nyheim Miller-Hines and Zamir White on Monday, according to the NFL's personnel notice. They also hosted running back Blake Watson on a visit.
Starter Christian McCaffrey sat out Monday's practice with tightness. Jordan James, Kaelon Black and Isaac Guerendo are also sidelined.
Patrick Taylor Jr., Sincere McCormick and Khalil Herbert are the only healthy backs on the roster.

Miller-Hines, 29, spent time with the Chargers and Saints last season but had only three touches. He missed the 2023 and 2024 seasons after a jet ski accident left him with a torn ACL and MCL.
A fourth-round pick of Indianapolis in 2018, Miller-Hines has 1,200 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in eight NFL seasons.
White, 26, entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Raiders in 2022. He had only 12 carries in six games with the Raiders last season.
