Jauan Jennings emotionally reflects on 49ers tenure ahead of NFL free agency

SANTA CLARA — Maybe wide receiver Jauan Jennings has not played his final game as a member of the 49ers.But on Monday, it sure felt that way.Or, at least, the possibility that Jennings’ time with the 49ers has come to an end seemed real as he appeared to get emotional as he stood in the locker room and answered questions.Jennings is scheduled to be an unrestricted NFL free agent in mid-March.Jennings was a seventh-round pick of the 49ers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad before developing into one of the team’s most reliable targets in the passing game over the past five seasons.“There’s nothing like Santa Clara,” Jennings said Monday, two days after the 49ers’ season came to an end with a 41-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.“When I first flew in here, I thought I was going to San Francisco, just like everybody else.
