The 49ers’ victory in the first round of the NFL playoffs was a perfect microcosm of their 2025 season.One of their star players sustained a severe injury. They overcame that and some other elements working against them with a mixture of standouts and role players stepping up for a 23-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.The 49ers brought an abrupt end to the Eagles’ bid for back-to-back championships.“It’s just cool for everybody across the board to be able to have this kind of win and celebrate all the stuff that we’ve been through,” 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy said. “Obviously, we’re excited for next week, too.”The NFL did the 49ers no favors with the schedule for the second weekend of the playoffs.
