Aiyuk can’t play for 49ers this season after placed on reserve/left squad list

The 49ers had publicly held out hope that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk could return to action at some point.Now, that is no longer an option.The 49ers on Saturday placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list, which officially makes him ineligible to play again for the 49ers this season.Aiyuk has not shown up at the 49ers’ practice facility in Santa Clara for at least three weeks, a source told NBC Sports Bay Area.Aiyuk sustained a severe knee injury on Oct. 20, 2024, against the Kansas City Chiefs.
