49ers great Roger Craig remains in contention for 2026 Hall of Fame enshrinement

Former 49ers running back Roger Craig is among nine individuals who remain in contention for three seniors finalist spots for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.Craig, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the 49ers, was the first player in NFL history to compile 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season.Since Craig accomplished that feat with the 49ers in 1985, only Marshall Faulk and Christian McCaffrey have joined him as members of the 1,000-1,000 club.Craig spent his first eight seasons with the 49ers (1983-1990). He played one season with the Los Angeles Raiders and two years with the Minnesota Vikings. Craig was a member of a playoff team in each of his 11 NFL seasons.He totaled 13,100 career yards from scrimmage, including 566 receptions for 4,911 yards. He scored 73 touchdowns in his career.The other eight seniors who remain under consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are quarterback Ken Anderson, wide receivers Henry Ellard, Stanley Morgan and Otis Taylor, defensive end L.C.
