Brock Purdy relishes strong hometown return in 49ers’ blowout win over Cardinals

GLENDALE, Ariz., — It was not only Brock Purdy’s return to the field after missing six games with a toe injury but also a return to the quarterback’s hometown in the 49ers’ 41-22 win over the Arizona Cardinals. “I would just say a lot of excitement,” Purdy said. “I’m always excited every Sunday. But to come back and to miss six weeks, and then my comeback game is here in Arizona where I grew up. So I just thought it was pretty special.” Purdy suffered a toe injury in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, and missed two games before attempting to return in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
