SANTA CLARA — After three days of practices this week, the 49ers figure to sit many of their starters in the final game of the preseason.Coach Kyle Shanahan wants to avoid the chances of anything happening Saturday night against the Los Angeles Chargers that could impact the 49ers’ decisions with their 53-man roster.All NFL teams must trim their 90-man rosters to the regular-season limit of 53 players by Tuesday, 1 p.m.Shanahan and general manager John Lynch are constantly in communication to discuss scenarios for piecing together their personnel for the start of the regular season.
