SANTA CLARA — Ricky Pearsall remains open-minded about meeting the young man whom police identified as shooting him nearly a year ago.But now is not the time, Pearsall said, as he prepares for his second NFL season as a wide receiver with the 49ers.“That’s something I’ll probably do, moving forward, maybe not right now just because there are a lot of other things I want to focus on that are my priorities,” Pearsall said this week.Pearsall was the victim of an armed robbery attempt on Aug. 31, 2024, near Union Square in San Francisco.The suspect, identified as a 17-year-old from Tracy, was charged with attempted murder while also facing assault with a semi-automatic firearm and attempted robbery charges, the district attorney’s office announced last year.Pearsall sustained a gunshot wound through his chest during the struggle. The bullet did not strike any vital organs or bones. He spent less than 24 hours in the hospital.The 49ers placed Pearsall on the non-football injury list to open last season.
