The Seattle Seahawks on Monday signed a former NFC West quarterback.Nearly two weeks after visiting with Colin Kaepernick and Austin Davis, the Seahawks opted to sign Davis to join the teams competition behind starter Russell Wilson. Trevone Boykin, who served as the backup last season, is the only other quarterback on Seattle's roster.The Seahawks released quarterback Jake Heaps to make room on the roster for Davis, who started eight games for the St. Louis Rams in 2014. Davis compiled a passer rating of 85.1 with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions three seasons ago.
