Kittle, a teammate of quarterback C.J. Beathard, a third-round pick of the 49ers, is regarded as one of the draft's best blocking tight ends. McDonald, 26, signed a five-year extension worth a maximum of $35 million in December, but the 2013 second-round pick has shown inconsistent hands and missed 16 games due to injuries. In 11 games last year, McDonald had 24 catches and career-highs in yards (391), yards per catch (16.3) and touchdowns (4).
