San Francisco 49ers fans were understandably frustrated watching the Seattle Seahawks capture Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Seeing a division rival celebrate a championship on your home field is never easy.
49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner understands that sentiment.
"It wasn't ideal," Warner admitted in April.
Warner isn't the only player who has been asked about the Seahawks' title run. During a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, George Kittle shared his perspective on Seattle hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at Levi's Stadium.
The 49ers' tight end offered a slightly different perspective on the situation.
"It is what it is. It's a Super Bowl at our stadium," Kittle said. "It didn't really bother me. I know it bothered 49ers fans. But at the end of the day, we get another shot at it next year, and we get to play at Seattle, they get to come to us again, and we get to hit people in the face. So, I'm just going to do my best to win all those games."
It's a good attitude by the veteran playmaker, who is undoubtedly eager to get back on the field with his teammates and prove that the 49ers remain a contender in the NFC.
While Kittle is coming off an Achilles injury that he suffered in San Francisco's playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he hopes to be ready for Week 1.
He also revealed that he recently reached a significant milestone in his rehabilitation, hitting more than 16 miles per hour while running in cleats.
"I'm 21 weeks out, and I'm running over 16 miles an hour, so I'm having a great time," Kittle said.
Kittle believes he is ahead of schedule in his recovery, an encouraging sign for the 49ers as they prepare for the 2026 season. If his progress continues, the All-Pro tight end could be ready to make an immediate impact when San Francisco opens its campaign.
