In his latest Instagram video, Aiyuk was seen holding an NFL football featuring the Commanders' logo. The caption labeled Washington as "the best team in the world."
It remains to be seen whether Aiyuk's desire to reunite with his close friend, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, will materialize. The 49ers are widely expected to move on from the receiver ahead of the 2026 season—potentially before training camp—if no trade partner emerges.

49ers star tight end George Kittle recently addressed the ongoing Aiyuk speculation when asked about a possible move to Washington.
"You guys have fun with that, I guess ... You have fun with all that comes with it," Kittle said.
The comments likely reflect the 49ers' growing frustration with Aiyuk's offseason antics, as the receiver has repeatedly taken shots at his current team, seemingly hoping to force an earlier release.
Aiyuk is currently recovering from ACL and MCL injuries suffered in 2024. While the 49ers initially hoped for a return in 2025, communication between the player and the organization broke down, leading to a reserve/left squad designation and effectively ending any chance of a comeback last season.
As the situation continues to unfold, 49ers fans will likely welcome a resolution and a potential parting of ways between the team and the veteran receiver.
